(Akron, OH, November 13, 2018) – Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Marietta Pavlidis to Partner-In-Charge of the Akron office, the first female to be named as an Office Partner-in-Charge.
Pavlidis joined Buckingham in 2002 as a member of the Firm’s Litigation Practice Group and focuses her practice on Family Law and Workers’ Compensation. As chair of the Firm’s Diversity Committee, Pavlidis has led several firm-wide initiatives including the Firm’s participation in community-driven diversity projects, hosting educational events for Firm employees and clients, and supporting programs that promote a diverse and inclusive workplace.
“Marietta has provided invaluable leadership and insight in many firm-wide initiatives; including her role reigniting the Firm’s Diversity Committee and Chairing that Committee since 2015” said Buckingham’s Managing Partner Steven Dimengo. “I am confident that Marietta will offer great leadership for our Akron office and the Firm.”
Pavlidis succeeds David Kern, who served as the Akron Partner-in-Charge since 2015. During his tenure, Kern made strides in supporting the Firm’s next generation of leaders through mentoring, modeling collaboration and sharing best practices, in addition to being an advocate for diversity and inclusion initiatives. “I echo Steve’s trust and confidence in selecting Marietta for this role,” said Kern. “She will tirelessly and selflessly work on behalf of all employees within Akron and within the Firm as a whole.”
In this role, Pavlidis will support a positive and collaborative culture, serve as a go-to resource for employees, help advance Firm-wide recruitment efforts and represent the Akron office in the local community.

Pavlidis earned a B.S from Kent State University and attended Cleveland-Marshall College of Law for her Juris Doctorate. She carries leadership roles outside the firm including serving as a trustee of the Akron Bar Association, a fellow of the Akron Bar Foundation and is a graduate of Leadership Akron.
