COPLEY — A capacity crowd filled the Copley Town Hall to hear more about a proposed 100-unit single-story slab-on-grade apartment complex on Ridgewood Road at the Dec. 3 Copley
Township Architectural Review Board (ARB) meeting.
After approving a ground sign for Regency Care of Copley at 2631 Copley Road and a package of signs for Chipotle Mexican Grill at 3890 Medina Road, ARB Chairman Joe Gregory moved to discussion of the apartment complex. Gregory laid out a schedule of events for the presentation and turned it over to Copley Community and Economic Development Director Matt Springer.
Springer said the 58-acre property is located within the Planned Development District (PDD), noting it was one of the few remaining parcels in the PDD that has yet to be developed.
Redwood Apartment Neighborhoods Director of Development Patricia Rakoci introduced her team of engineers, architects and one attorney. With Rakoci were Eric Smith, vice president of national traffic engineering for PRIME AE; David Mann, of Mann Parsons Gray Architects; Matt Duncan, a civil engineer for TGC Engineering; Chris Schmidt, engineering department manager for TGC Engineering; and John Slagter, an attorney with Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs.
According to Rakoci, Redwood owns and manages 9,000 units in 91 communities in six states, with the number expected to go over 10,000 by next month.
