(AKRON, OH, July 15, 2014) — Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC is proud to announce that the Akron Bar Association and United Way of Summit County awarded Buckingham with the 2013 Wendell L. Willkie Award, presented on June 25 at the Akron Bar Association annual meeting.

Bill Caplan, Buckingham’s Partner-In-Charge of the Akron Office, was also elected to United Way of Summit County Board of Directors for a three-year term.

According to United Way’s 2013-2014 Annual Report, each year the Akron Bar Association and United Way of Summit County challenge local attorneys and law firms to run outstanding United Way campaigns and compete for the prestigious award. All Akron Bar Association member law firms are eligible, and the award is presented based on the highest percentage increase in total number of givers, the highest increase in per capita giving, and the highest percentage increase in total dollars raised. Through its 2013 campaign, Buckingham posted a 36 percent increase in total campaign dollars raised, for a total of $72,567 for United Way of Summit County.
