Casey Davis Selected for Akron Bar Association Leadership Academy

Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC is proud to announce that associate Casey J. Davis was selected for inclusion in the inaugural class of the Akron Bar Association’s Leadership Academy.

In order to become a member of the Leadership Academy program, participants must be practicing law for less than eight years, and are required to be members of the Akron Bar Association. Each participant completed an application and participated in a mandatory interview process through which the Bar Association’s selection committee chose finalists. The names of the finalists were then submitted to the Bar Association’s board of trustees for approval.

The selection committee considered the following factors, among others, in making its decision: the candidate’s demonstrated or expressed commitment to the Akron Bar Association, his or her dedication to community service, the ability to make the time commitment required, and diversity of practice and background of the applicant.

“The Akron Bar Association is excited about our new Leadership Academy that will begin this September,” said Akron Bar Association President, Ann Marie O’Brien. “The depth of skills and experiences that our inaugural class is bringing to the program will only serve to make it stronger than we had envisioned.  We are looking forward to the Academy developing the next generation of leaders for the Bar.”

The Leadership Academy was developed as an objective of the Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Task Force. The program is designed to identify young lawyers who are leaders in the practice of law and in their communities.

Davis joined Buckingham in 2014 as an associate attorney. He is a member of the Business Practice Group and focuses his practice on state and local tax matters, corporate transactions and other general business matters. Davis spends time in both the Akron and Canton offices.
