Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC is proud to announce that Steven A. Dimengo, Partner, has received the Dr. Frank L. Simonetti Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Akron’s College of Business.

Dimengo accepted the award at the Presidential Sunrise Breakfast on April 17. More than 70 people; friends, family and colleagues; were in attendance to applaud him on his achievement.

The award is presented to a graduate of the College of Business Administration from the University of Akron who has exhibited achievement in his or her profession to the extent that it brings recognition and honor to the college and to the university.

“The receipt of this award is an honor,” says Dimengo. “The College of Business at the University of Akron prepared me well for my career, and I truly believe my educational background is a big part of why I have been successful.”

Dimengo received his B.A., Juris Doctorate and M.A. degree from the University of Akron. He now gives back to the College of Business Administration by teaching in the Masters in Taxation program at the university.

He is consistently recognized as being a leading tax attorney. Dimengo most recently initiated and chaired the annual Northeast Ohio State and Local Tax Conference in the name of the University Of Akron College Of Business and the Ohio Society of CPAs. He also has a substantial influence on Ohio and tax law through participating in the drafting of legislation and representing taxpayers in key Ohio cases through the Ohio Supreme Court. His impact also includes leadership positions with the Ohio State Bar Association Taxation Committee and the Sales/Use Tax Subcommittee.

Dimengo has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America® editions, has been recognized as one of Ohio’s Super Lawyers®, and was named “Akron’s Best Lawyers Lawyer of the Year” for tax law in 2012. He also has a Martindale-Hubbell Rating of AV Preeminent, which indicates very high to preeminent legal ability and very high ethical standards as established by confidential opinions from members of the Bar.
